Everquest Buyer INI Sorter

Upload Barter INI File

Note: Only .ini formats allowed to a max size of 25KB.

  • As you can see this is very basic. This project is intended to sort your Buyer INI.
Disclaimer: Use at your own risk.

The problem; There is no way to sort the buyer window, with 300 buy lines the buyer window is cumbersome.

    Instructions

    1) Locate your Barter file. It is normally stored in "\userdata" folder where Everquest is installed
    C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\EverQuest\userdata

    2) Do not be stupid! Back this file up.

    3) Upload your your "BART_{ToonName}_{server}.ini file.
    BART_Jordack_bristle.ini

    4) When you upload your file it will generate a new file with the same name. Replace your existing BART file with the new one.

    5) Verify all your Buyer lines. Do not blame me if this F's things up.

    Important Notes

-- Your Buyer account must be logged off!
Do not replace your BART file if your buyer account is logged on or in offline mode.
Nor does it seem to reread the barter file if you log the buyer on, camp, replace, and reenter.
If your Buyer is in offline mode your fresh sorted BART file will be over written with unsorted data once you log the barter back on.

-- No Really, make sure you have a backup on your BART_ file before replacing

-- Comments can be sent to: bristle.jordack or jordack_@_yahoo.com
I also take plat and krono donations :)

    Assumptions

It appears barter items are added by first available barter slot. Which is why it seems to keep the order as they are added. Then as what seems to be random a new item will insert in the middle of your list. This is due to the item that was in that slot being delete. Items will get deleted by either you deleting them, or have purchased your quantities.

I created this for my personal use. After seeing others complain about the same problem I decided to share it. It works for me. Does not mean it will work for you.

It’s a one-time sort. As soon as you add a new item your list become unsorted. I generally have to sort mine over couple of weeks.
